Offset Keyframes Tool
I no longer maintain this tool. It is available for free in case you want to try it.
Animation tool to help animators offset keyframes.
How does the tool work:
- Select objects.
- Use the UI slider to offset the keys.
The tool offsets keys in time(subframes). You can get the current timeline start / end on the UI buttons "In"/ "Out". Keys outside the In/Out values will not be affected.
It is also possible to "shift"+ "select" a range in the timeline. The red range will be considered and the UI range values disregarded.
How to install 1:
Watch the video in the content files if necessary.
- Put the downloaded files somewhere you're going to remember;
- With Maya running, drag "install.py" to your viewport;
- Restart Maya;
- From Maya's script editor, run "script.py" or save it to a shelf.
Some people with a mac had problems using the script to install the tool. If you use a mac, try installing as described on "How to install 2".
How to install 2:
If the first method doesn't work.
- Under "kot" , copy "keyframeOffsetTool" folder to Maya preferences scripts folder.
- Restart Maya if the application is running;
- From Maya's script editor, run "script.py" or save it to a shelf.
